This season, femininity is listed as the #1 factor in dressing up, you can either be the femme fatal, or the sweet girl will be present in every single outfit, always adapting to each person’s personality. The waist will still be our focal point, either with or without a belt. Applications like flowers and embellishments will also be present. Shades of smoke gray will be the principal color for this season that every woman will be wearing this season portraying an elegant and feminine silhouette.
This Fall-Winter collections, in general, presented model figures across the runway with classic looks altered in a peculiar way for a contemporary feeling; puffy sleeves, voluminous shoulders, one-shoulders, jumpsuits, high-waisted skirts, pleats, drapes and ruffled tops were among the favorite revamped classics.
Some designers opted for crunched skirts in different lengths, peacock feathers, leather and animal printed dresses. These are all creations made of flowy fabrics, with lace and other details that soften the woman’s image. Other colors seen on the runway are apple red, purple, peach, and pink; all these are obvious symbols of femininity.
While on the runway the models look ravishing thanks to the dramatic makeup and over the top hair do’s, don’t think that this is not possible to get away with on a daily basis. Lacroix, Givenchy and Karl Lagerfiel for Chanel featured the most dramatic shows on the runway.
If you aim for the more bohemian look, you can also make it feminine, try a ruffled skirt with a white romantic chiffon blouse, pair it up with some flats and a big handbag, don’t forget your bracelets and sunglasses to top it off.
What is more feminine than a woman wearing man’s clothing? There is nothing sexier than a woman with a long sleeve white button down shirt and nothing else. Some designer’s are reinventing tuxedo jackets and translating them for a feminine look, as well as trench coats and other jackets for this Fall-Winter season.
Dressing up is a therapy session for some women, wearing everything designed for a feminine look is like a reflection of a little girl playing dress up with her grandmother or mother. Looking for treasures inside a world of memories.
Femininity comes from within, and the inspiration for your goal can be found anywhere in your closet, as well as any store whether it can be in a retail store or a designer store. Also, in your closet you probably own a ruffled or feathered top you never thought you’d wear again, pair it up with a high waist skirt and stilettos for an elegant chic look. Film and literature also inspire designers looking for that iconic romantic femininity and trying to modernize it; Marie Antoinette and Juliet are among the favorite icons for feminine inspiration.
Remember clothes should always tell a story, so why not re-invent your own story with your own look and personality? It should be fun and always self-assuring your confidence is the brightest way to go.

French Revolution Beheading
French Revolution Beheading

Question: My interpertation of Viva la Vida. What do you think?
You know the song, its been on an itune commercial. What i think its talking about is the French Revolution. You know, King Louis is the ruler of France and is allied with multiple nations and helped weaken the British empire. so now he has a better grip on things, like the ocean and other lands. the people crying down with the king long live the king, is refering to his dethroning and later on in the song, “head on a silver platter” is about when he is beheaded. Finally in the choruses there are a lot of Christain references. We know at that time, France was a heavily Catholic based society so it would make sense that the king would listen for Peter as he goes to death. At least that is what i think. What do you think of it?
Answer: I think you are completely right!
Chris Martin gave some insight on the inspiration for the song in an interview, stating that it was about a king who messed up, realizing that he didn't do such a great job now that he sees the revolutionaries at his doorstep.
He also says that the artwork from the album was inspired by this song, which is Liberty Leading the People by Eugène Delacroix, depicting the French Revolutionary war. He also mentions seeing the play The Scarlet Pimpernel which takes place after the Revolution.
Therefore, the lyrics can easily be fit to come from the point of view of King Louis XVI who was overthrown by the revolutionaries.
The lyrics are as follows
I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word
Now in the morning I sleep alone
Sweep the streets I used to ownI used to roll the dice
Feel the fear in my enemies eyes
Listen as the crowd would sing:
"Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!"One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt, and pillars of sand- This could all refer to the power that the King once held and how although he was beloved at first, his indecisiveness and conservatism led some elements of the people of France to eventually hate him as a symbol of the perceived tyranny and he soon saw his reign slip out from under him, like salt or sand.
I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can not explain
Once you know there was never, never an honest word
That was when I ruled the world
(Ohhh)It was the wicked and wild wind
Blew down the doors to let me in.
Shattered windows and the sound of drums
People could not believe what I'd become
Revolutionaries Wait
For my head on a silver plate
Just a puppet on a lonely string
Oh who would ever want to be king?-The chorus may be refering to Louis' ideological differences with much of Europe, and how he supported the Legislative Assembly who declared war on the Holy Roman Empire.
The "wind" could be refering to the wind of change that swept threw the people and led to the king's demise. He was found guilty of treason and was executed by a public beheading (head on a silver plate)It could also reflects the revolution against King Charles X that accomplished rather little other than bring in a new king to power, Louis-Philippe. The painting “Liberty Leading the People” was purchased by the French Government of the time yet was not displayed until the final Revolution (1848) that dethroned King Louis-Philippe and placed the newly elected President, Louis Napoleon into power.

Halloween is the holiday of playing make believe. People love throwing parties, eating candy, and playing games on this holiday. So, this year you are invited to a Halloween party and you’re excited about attending. The only problem is that you don’t know what to wear.
If you’re a female you can dress as a gypsy. Head scarves can be purchased cheaply and long skirts and puffy blouses can be procured on clearance at the local department store. To dress up the outfit a little more get a couple of strings of beads. The beads should be colorful to add flare to the costume.
Another suggestion is dressing as a hippie. You can put on an old pair of blue jeans and an old shirt from your closet. Hippies usually wear peace sign necklaces, but if you can’t get your hands on one a bead necklace is a suitable substitution.
If you really want to get fancy, you can dress up as a queen or countess from the past. For instance Marie Antoinette or Queen Elizabeth I. Renaissance dresses are usually appropriate for this type of costume. White beads can be used as pearls for a necklace or head dressing.
Put a little mystery in your costume by wearing a mask. Masquerade mask can match any outfit you chose to wear. Masquerade mask can come with feathers or sequence. If your costume does not require any extra flare a plain solid colored mask will do. A great idea is dressing up as a mardi gras party attendee. There are places you can go to buy or rent masks with a headdress or a mask on a stick. However, you can buy a mask of a famous character. For instance, Mike Myers, the Joker, and Zorro. Yet, make an attempt to avoid cliché costumes. For example, Grim Reaper, Jason, and the Scream mask. You don’t want to show up at the party with the same costume as someone else.
If the above ideas do not inspire you, there are loads of other personas you can dress up as. For example, a nurse, RuPaul, Wonder Woman, or Cleopatra are all great personas to impersonate.
Whatever you decide to wear on Halloween remember to not drink and drive and watch out for pedestrians.

Answer: That's really pretty and I can imagine Marie Antoinette wearing that! A professional hairdresser is a good idea, and if they put flowers in your hair it'll look really pretty. Don't forget to use black eyeliner or something to put a beauty mark on your face!
The only bad thing is, it might be really warm out on Halloween and you will feel warm.
I totally think that this will work!! It's creative, pretty and functional! Bring a fake piece of cake, a small fork and a fancy plate and you'll totally be set!
