Lady Oscar
(aka The Rose of Versailles, aka Berubara)

Lady Oscar or The Rose of Versailles (also called Berubara in Japanese) is a famous comic written by Riyoko Ikeda in 1972.
Lady Oscar is a fictional character, a young girl who became a palace guard and Marie Antoinette's personal bodyguard. Lady Oscar has become one of the better known Japanese series throughout Japan and other countries because of its beautiful artwork and historical events.
Marie Antoinette played an important and enchanting role in the early part of Lady Oscar. The Rose of Versailles began in pre-Revolution France, during the reign of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette.
Marie Antoinette took the leading role in the early parts of Lady Oscar. She was a young, mischievous, fund loving and strong willed Austrian girl who got married to Louis XVI when she was only 14. Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI were a poor match. Louis XVI was a weak prince (and a weak king) and Marie Antoinette was more into banquets and royal balls.
