Madame Du Barry was the favorite mistress of Louis XV. She was from a low class family. Marie Antoinette and Madame Du Barry were known to have tension between them. Marie Antoinette felt that a low class person like Madame Du Barry should not be admitted to her banquets and royal balls. The struggle between Marie Antoinette and Madame Du Barry did not entertain Louis XV who ordered Marie Antoinette to speak to his favourite mistress, Madame Du Barry. The tension between Marie Antoinette and Madame Du Barry was real in history.
