Question: Question regarding Princess de Lamballe during the French Revolution?
If Princess de Lamballe hadn’t refused to take the oath against the monarchy, would she still have been murdered?
Her death was so cruel and horrible.
Answer: She would almost certainly still have been murdered. The mere fact of her being an aristocrat would have been enough to condemn her to death. Once the Terror got underway, nobody was safe, most especially anyone aristocrat or having connections with the royal family.
