Question: Was Marie Antoinette a crappy movie or what?
I though it would be interested in watching something about Marie Antoinette and learn about why she was so well known, but the movie did not really have a good plot and it didn’t explain why the whole crowd outside the palace was mad at her, or show her get in trouble from sleeping with the other guy, show how her life ended (she got beheaded) OR did they say that it was the French Revolution, and just had a big mob wanting to kill her. And there was hardly any talk in the movie. The movie was pretty and it looked nice, but really the story really didn’t portray her life.
Answer: you're supposed to learn all the background in history class. or connect the dots ("queen of debt" is a clue). it didn't show her getting beheaded because that's implied. it did portray her life somewhat accurately, but sofia coppola said that she intended for the movie to be a "history of feelings", which means she wanted to explore how marie antoinette might have felt or said or done at key moments in her life.
