Question: favorite books on marie antoinette? ?

im looking to get a few good books on her, and i was wondering some other peoples favorites? i really like the books based on fact more than fiction and possibly even a good book about her affair with count fergusen (however u spell his name).
so yeah, if you could help out, that would be fabulous.
except the book by antoinia frasier or how ever you spell her name. im sure its a good book, but im looking for something a bit more.

Answer: antonia fraser’s book is good but it is a very sympathetic portrait of antoinette. i didn’t have a problem with that because it is a fresh perspective of her. it does cover the affair with fergusen (fraser believes that he genuinely loved her) it is an interesting book. sofia coppola based her movie marie antoinette on this book

it is an award winning biography (based on fact and research) what more do you want?

Question: A small french story for a play?

A need a nice small french story for a play, can you suggest me one? Not very big, a small story would do. It should be connected with French history. Even an anecdote would do. Plz provide the site.
(I was thinking about the Marie Antoinette Necklace Affair, but I don’t know how to put it into a play!)

Answer: If you're looking for history, you can go with:

Bastille day
D-day
The day France surrendered to Germany
Zidane giving a headbutt in the final game of the world cup
http://www.zidaneheadbutt.org/ for this last one

You can google the rest pretty easily.

Question: marie Antoinette…any info about her absolutist viewpoint and her outrageous…?

spending; how did it contribute/cause the revolution? how it was solely her fault for the downfall and her and her husband being executed?
please help! thank you!!!

Answer: I don't know anything about her absolutist veiws but being on the thorn would most likely mean she would not want to lose that. Sharing power with common people would have been an insane idea.
The French did not like Marie Ant., she was Austrian and not French. They didn't like that France had made an alliance with Austria by the two marrying. Her affairs were also very public with men and women, even though every one was cheating on/with someone. Simply due to the fact that they hated her, her sexual ways were worse than anyone who else. Also when she appeared in courts, they didn't like her mannerism. I mean, they really picked her apart!!
What got the best of her were rumors. When peasants say that she was told that French men, women and children were starving in the county side and she is quoted as saying, "Let them eat cake." Cake in those days was the batter that laced the oven while bread baked. It is a very rude thing to say. It was enough to push people over the edge and have them hunt her down, and they were starving while Marie Ant. was a plump woman. There is no proof that she said that, it just added fuel to the fire.
It wasn't just Marie Ant. who spending was out of control. Louie did he own fair share. If you ever get the chance to visit Versailles, go! It's very interesting! Louie could have saved a lot of money staying in Paris and living at the Louvre, but he was afraid after an incident that happened when he was a kid. The fact that France had no money and their peasants were taxed to the max and there wasn't any food is the reason the peasants revolt. To the French it was all her fault. But it was the ruthless spending of the French Royals over the years that brought the breaking point leading to the French Revolution. OH! i also forgot to mention that were was a drought, wheat crop was a very poor that year.

Hopefully the site below is helpful. It is Mar. Ant. + absolutism

Question: I can’t remember the name of a book ?

A few years ago I read this book about a girl who just moved into a new neighborhood and she meets one of her neighbors who tells her these stories. Somehow the girl along with the help of this popular guy end up looking for something that has to do with Marie Antoinette’s necklace. And in the end they find it around a light fixture or something like that. Even though I have already read the book I can’t remember the name and it will keep bugging me until I figure it out. So if anyone has any ideas please tell me.
THANKS

Answer: Post this question at www.whatsthatbook.com. Hopefully, someone there will remember your book.

Question: How should I add a clencher sentence to this paragraph?

On November 15, 1755 Empress Maria Thérèse gave birth to her fifteenth and most lovely child, Marie Antoinette. She led a wonderful childhood in the royal household of Hapsburg. A year after her arrival in this world, the Seven Years’ War begins, with Austria and France as allies for the first time. The fight focuses on the clash between France and England and the battle in Germany between the house of Austria and the uprising empire of Prussia. In 1763, The Seven Years’ War ends. To uphold the alliance between France and Austria, a marriage is arranged between France’s Louis XV’s grandson and Marie Antoinette.

Answer: umm it's called clincher, and just some up what the paragraph is about.
