Question: How do i get big hair? (see detials)?

I have thick hair but it just lays limp its maybe 2 inches past the shoulder. I’m going to a costume party as Marie Antoinette an i want to know how to do my hair like hers in the movie.

Answer: This is close to how THEY did it-- Use some Poly Fil (pillow stuffing), make a tight ball with it and bobby-pin it onto your head. Brush your hair evenly over the "pillow" and spray it REALLY well, then pin it in place. Pull the ends of your hair into a tight bun on top of the pillow, and pin into place. If you have a hard time getting it to stay up, apply a spiking pomade to it first, then blow-dry it till it's really stiff. Tie a bright-colored ribbon around the base of the bun, and stud your hair with artificial baby's breath, rhinestones, etc, to finish the look. If you want, you could even use a pale pink or blue temprary dye spray, and tint your hair with it, as this was also fashionable at the time. Rim your hairline with tiny pincurls, held in place with more bobby pins, and you'll look like an Imperial Goddess!

Question: please help, fashion and the french revolution?

im during a progject and I need to find photos and descriptions of fashion.

Answer: You might have better luck with books. here's one from amazon with pictures:

Also look online for portraits by Elisabeth Vigee-Lebrun, who painted portraits of Marie Antoinette and others before and after the Revolution. The stiff dresses with hoops are from before, the loose white dresses worn with straw hats are from before, the straighter white and colored dresses with bizarre hats and hair are from after.

Check your library. Look online for costume departments at universities. Look at art collections online.

Good luck!
The French Revolution was 1789. Napoleon crowned himself emperor in 1804. Louis XVI and Marie antoinette ruled 1774-1793. this should help you look for the time periods.

Question: Historical Accuracy of the Movie, “Marie Antoinette”?

Can someone give me a basic timeline of the events that happened in Europe? For example, the English Revo., France Revo., American Revo…

How much of the movie is true? Or should I ask, how much isn’t true?
1. Did Antoinette really commit marital infidelity with a soldier?
2. How old were the couple when they were married, when Louis XVI was crowned and when they were guillotined?
3. How did the French Revolution end? I know the monarchs were killed, but did they tried to run away? Did they flee? Or am I confusing this with the English Revolution…
4. What happened to their kids? How many were there, again?

Quickies:
1. There was a scene, where the soldier Antoinette liked was riding a horse, and the horse was only standing on the hind feet. That was an allusion to Napoleon’s portrait right? Why? Is the reference telling something?

I loved the movie, watched it a second time. All the foreshadowing, the symbolism and the outstanding costumes.

Thanks

Answer: When I told my history buff friend I was watching this movie, she asked me questions about it and was impressed how historically accurate it was. The exception of course is the modern music soundtrack and the converse sneakers in the montage. Unfortunetly, I’m not a history buff myself and do not know the answers to your questions off hand. Wikipedia would have many of your answers.
