Question: Including small tastes of the French Revolution in my art?

Hey community,
I’m in my final semester of Visual Arts in college, and we’ve been given a project with the theme of “Monsters.” I have decided to use Captain Hook [Though not the Disney representation, of course!] and I did some reasearch and found a summary of a novel written about him. It mentioned that Hook enjoyed many good things, like poetry, and he had a great interest in the French Revolution. I would like to include that in my piece, but I’m not exactly sure what some “icons” or “symbols” of the French Revolution are, and if it would be appropriate. Right now, I have a picture of Capt. Hook with his shirt half-undone to reveal a strap for a pistol with an old-looking clock background. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Answer: The guillotine - les tricotueuses (the old ladies knitting). Marie Antoinette saying Let them eat cake. Marian, the symbol of Revolutionary France and her Phrygian cap (look her up for pictures).
