French Revolution Documentary

Question: Does anyone remember when TV was awesome?
Like Animal Planet would show sweet footage of wild lions and bears and lemmings clawing at each other, and now all they show is how to train your freaking dog shows.
The History Channel played Braveheart at least once a month (always with historian commentary, of course) and documentaries about the French Revolution, Lincoln, ancient China, Egypt, etc, all with reenactments. Now all they play is Nostradamus 2012 stuff.
We might as well rename The Learning Channel, The Baby Channel. And all G4 airs is Cops.
And if all else failed, you could always rely on Nickelodeon to bring the lolz.
But I should stop now. Anyone else remember?
Answer: Well, the good phases come and go. Thank goodness for online TV!
